On the 23rd of September Barry Town United's club house was finally reopened. 200 people turned up to celebrate the re-opening and watch some of the live football that was on offer that evening.
It was another excellent night at Jenner Park on Thursday with Barry Town picking up a 3-1 win against Carmarthen. Despite some sloppy play at times Barry were by far the better team in the game and they really made their chances count. Kayne Mclaggon looked deadly up front and bagged two on his Birthday. Carmarthen were not without chances though managing to pull one goal back moments after Barry's first. But over the course of the game Barry looked strong and in the second half Callum Sainty scored his first goal of the season to seal all three points.
It's always tough shooting under the floodlights with an ISO up in the thousands but there isn't too much to complain about when you get to see four goals in a game!

This weekend Barry Town United recorded their first league victory of the season against Newtown. Kanye McLaggon struck early in the first half before finishing the game off with a second half header. It was a close fought game between the two sides but Kanye McLaggon finishing up front and Luke Coopers defending at the back proved the difference.
It was great to finally photograph a football game with my normal kit and despite an early shower the weather was great for football photography. As the season goes on I hope to see more goals and games like this!

This season I'm going to be photographing all of Barry town united's home games. I'm going to be doing a mixture of sports photography and documentary photography and by the end of the season I'll be sharing my project about the club.
I missed the start of the season but Friday the 25th of August marked Barry Town's second home game against TNS (last seasons champions.). It was a tough game for Barry town but they only lost the game 1-0 and when you consider the difference between the two sides it wasn't that bad of a result for the club.
Unfortunately for this game I didn't have access to the kit I would usually use to shoot football so by the time the second half came around it was just about impossible to get a good picture. Luckily this will be the last time this happens this season so I'm looking forward to the next home game on the 9th of September where I'll be able to share some better shots with you!

If you're reading this thank you for visiting my newly made website, I hope you like what you see! Most if not all of the work you see on the website so far has been taken over the past two years while I have attempted to build a portfolio of work.
Moving forward you can expect to see more of the same as I attempt to keep up to date on this blog (Something I've never been good at!). You'll likely see more gigs, sporting events and protests. There will also be some press stories from the south wales area that have taken my interest. I'm currently in the process of planning a project with a football club too and I'd hope to share that here in the coming months. I also have a long form project that I shot on the Rhymney Valley that I'm still not sure how to share.
In other words expect to see a lot more work being published here in the coming months!
